A Note from Pastor

Pastor Mueller came to Kingman after serving for 18 years in the Bay Area suburb of Livermore.  Prior to that, he served in Indianapolis, Indiana; Modesto, California and his first call was on the other side of Arizona, in Safford.  Pastor accepted the call to Kingman because he felt he was needed here.  

Pastor has been married to Julie for 38 years.  They met in high school at Michigan Lutheran Seminary and started dating the end of their sophomore year.  In college, Julie studied to become a teacher at Martin Luther College, while Pastor was at Northwestern College.  After Julie graduated, she started a Lutheran school in Little Chute, Wisconsin.  They married a year later as Pastor Mueller continued his studies at Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary.  While he completed his Masters in Divinity, Pastor and Julie were blessed with two daughters, Katie and Lisa.

Pastor Mueller’s first call to Safford began many years of service in California and Arizona.  During that time too, the Muellers were blessed with a third daughter, Jenni.

Pastor has been elected to many offices in the district over the years.  He has been counselor to the Ladies Women’s Missionary Society, served as a Circuit Pastor, and served on the Mission Board for 17 years.  Currently he is the District Coordinator for the Evangelism Committee and for the Ministry of Christian Giving.  His favorite service outside the congregation has been as the Camp Director for Tree of Life Bible Camp (at total of 22 years) where he supervises about 100 4th-12th graders and 22 staff.  

Pastor enjoys coin and stamp collecting.  He also loves working out, being an avid bike rider.  He has refereed high school basketball for over 30 years and girls Lacrosse for 12 years.  Pastor and Julie are avid disc golfers.

Julie has been a teacher in Lutheran or public schools for over 30 years.  She likes the younger children.  Currently, she teaches 1st graders at Cerbat school in Kingman.  She likes to read, do Sudoku, and take walks.    Pastor and Julie have 6 grandkids.  The oldest two boys live in Wausau, WI, the next three grandkids live in Goodyear, AZ, and the youngest in Red Wing, MN.   All three daughters are teachers too, as are two of their sons-in-law (both principals).  The other son-in-law is a Pastor in Goodyear.
